Donating Items to the Museum

Have something you think belongs in the Onoway Museum? We’re always happy to hear from people who want to contribute to preserving local history!

Before accepting any item, we carefully review each donation to make sure it fits our collection goals and space limitations. If you’d like to offer something, please reach out to us first, we’ll ask a few questions and may request photos or background information.

What We Collect

We’re focused on materials that:

  • Illustrate the founding, settlement, and development of Onoway and surrounding areas

  • Highlight Onoway and area’s Indigenous culture, agricultural development, education, and cultural history

  • Help us better understand customs, activities, people, institutions, or events from the past

  • Are in good condition

  • Are unique (we try to avoid duplicates of items we already have)

Please note that we may not be able to accept every item offered, especially if we already have similar pieces or if the item doesn't meet our collection guidelines.

If you’d like to discuss a possible donation, feel free to contact us at admin@onowaymuseum.ca or call (780) 967-1015.
